So Bright

I can't open my eyes because your presence is so bright.
I'm not worthy to come near,
So I will be content to hear;
To listen to your voice as you sing over me.

You beckon to my heart,
You say to let go; to let you in.
You say that you want to open my eyes to your brightness as you heal
those fractured places and shattered faces in my soul.

I choose instead to hesitate and procrastinate until I miss your call...

I push and pull and rant and run away,
Until I feel as if I can't come to you any more.

Then I'm left standing still...

So now I'm right back at the start,
at the place where you beckon to my heart.

Maybe this time I'll make the right choice.
